If you have extensive experience in technical theatre, including lighting, audio, set construction and stage mechanics with an understanding of the performing arts and entertainment industry combined with a flair for creative production designs then this is the job for you.

Theatre Operations Supervisor
The Wyndham Cultural Centre is a state-of-the art facility comprising of a main 477 seat performing arts theatre with fly tower, an exhibition gallery, Hall of Fame, public foyer and tenanted restaurant, "Raffael's". Technical Operations Manager, Ballarat
The busy and historic 959 seat Her Majesty's Theatre in Ballarat is seeking an experienced, dynamic Technical Operations Manager
This full time permanent position is responsible for the management of technical operations and presentation of Theatre performances, operation of Theatre lighting, audio systems and staging equipment as well as coordinating activities in backstage areas. The successful applicant will also communicate with theatre hirers, ensure venue maintenance, provide technical staff leadership, coordinate operation of technical activities within Budget parameters and liaise with Theatre industry technical contacts.
Management experience in the technical operation of a Live Performing Arts venue, and demonstrated operating skills in Theatre lighting, sound and staging (including flying systems) are essential. Applicants should also possess excellent communication and leadership skills and have high level computer use proficiency.
Ideally the new Technical Operations Manager will commence work in early February 2004 to allow for hand-over from the present incumbent.

The Australian Centre for the Moving Image (ACMI) is a world first, state of the art facility, dedicated to the moving image in all its forms - film, television, games, video and digital media. It is designed for the visitor to access, learn about and interact with the moving image - a new experience for Victorians and visitors from interstate and around the globe.
The Operations Unit is responsible for asset and maintenance management strategies, administration and venue management of ACMI's facilities, technical support services and the delivery of information technology and audio-visual services for the organisation. The Adelaide Festival Centre is seeking to appoint an experienced Head Flyperson/Mechanist to join the Production Services team.
The position will be responsible for coordinating and supervising fly system requirements and operations for performances, primarily in the Festival Theatre.

Production Manager, Rock Eisteddfod (7 month contract)

The Rock Eisteddfod Challenge® is a performing arts competition for secondary school students aimed at encouraging healthy lifestyle choices. KEY PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:
To successfully co-ordinate all production elements for 40 Rock Eisteddfod Challenge® live events in various venues around Australia.
CHALLENGES OF THE POSITION:
To maintain the success of this high profile event through liaison with all interested parties. To produce quality shows on a demanding and overlapping schedule and tight budget.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
i. Pre production;
Venues: contracting and technical riders.
Crewing: selection, scheduling and contracting.
ii. Initiating and co-ordinating the process of tenders for the provision of audio, lighting, staging, power, loaders, riggers and video production for all events.
iii. Co-ordinating all freight movements of production equipment.
iv. Liaising with schools in regard provision of technical aspects of all events.
v. To continue development of training of stage crews in all aspects of OH&S.
vi. To stage manage a number of events throughout Australia.
vii. Assisting with the development of the tour schedule for 2004 Rock Eisteddfod Challenge®
viii. To implement production systems for the management of technical elements of all productions
ix. Co-ordinate the development of a database pertaining to production elements of the events.
SELECTION CRITERIA:
Essential:
i. At least three years industry experience with one year's office experience desirable
ii. Industry contacts and a high level of technical production knowledge.
iii. Confidence in calling a show and managing a technical team at live events.
iv. Strong time management, organisational and multitasking skills.
v. Ability to prioritise and meet overlapping deadlines.
vi. Excellent telephone, written and interpersonal communication skills.
vii. Strong computer skills, with knowledge of database, excel and word.
viii. Good attention to detail and problem solving skills.
ix. Ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team.
x. Current (manual) Drivers License, own vehicle desirable

PACKAGE:
Salary negotiable dependant upon experience. A standard 9% superannuation contribution will be added to this figure. 4 weeks annual leave will be accrued in one calendar year. Contract to commence March 3 2003. Potential for contract extension for right person.

Resolution X is a leading Victorian lighting hire and production company offering a wide range of the worlds leading brands of automated and theatrical lighting and special effects to the event and entertainment industries. We seek an enthusiasic individual interested in learning about the industry and developing their technical skills for the position of technical assistant. Based in our warehouse in Noble Park, the position is primarily concerned with preparation (and return) of lighitng systems and basic maintenance. This is an entry level position, suitable for applicants without any prior experience and/or from another industry. As you learn about the equipment, systems and production generally, we envisage the position growing also taking on more responsibility and participating on-site in productions. The successful candidate would need to start in the week of the 2nd of Feburary, 2003.

Technical Manager, Ensemble Theatre Company
